Honduras shares borders with Nicaragua, Guatemala and El Salvador. Honduras is the Central America country with the largest Caribbean coast, boasting over 800 Km of shore-line to the north. To the south the Pacific Ocean sharing the Gulf of Fonseca with neighboring Nicaragua and El Salvador. The interior of the country comprises a central mountain system, cut by rivers flowing into both the Caribbean and Pacific. The lowlands in the south form a plain along the Pacific coast. The large fertile valleys of the northern Caribbean lowlands are cultivated with banana plantations.

La Ceiba has its own International airport, and also has two national parks, Cuero y Salado and Pico Bonito the highest peak on the North coast. In La Ceiba you can also enjoy Cangrejal River, one of the best clear white water rafting rivers.
