The largest natural lake in Honduras, Lake Yojoa is located only 96 km south of San Pedro Sula on the main highway to Tegucigalpa.

World famous for its black bass fishing, Lake Yojoa offers a unique scenery, a cool climate for a refreshing change from the hot lowlands of the north coast. Lake Yojoa boasts some of the best bird watching opportunities in the country. The lake is surrounded by two National Parks with a cloud forest habitat, Azul Meámbar on the southern shore and Santa Barbara on the northern side. This tour includes a stop at the beautiful Pullapanzak Waterfalls, located a short 30 minutes ride from the lake. We will have time for swimming and bird watching.Meals included: Lunch

Our tour, which starts early in the morning at your hotel, will take you to an excellent paved highway through Western Honduras, following the Chamelecon River Valley. During the trip, you will see enchanting rural scenes, which include forested mountains, livestock farms, tobacco plantations and in the higher elevations, coffee “fincas”. The trip to Copán will take two hours and a half. Upon arrival to the Ruins, tour of the Main Archaeological Site.

The tour includes the acropolis, the ball court, the hieroglyphic stairway and the great plaza of the stelas; as well as the useum of Mayan Sculpture, acclaimed by experts as unique in the Mayan World. A masterpiece within the museum is the exact size replica of the famed Rosalila Temple, discovered in 1989. Lunch will be provided in the quaint colonial town of Copán Ruinas. There will be time for shopping and strolling around the town before our departure in the late afternoon towards San Pedro Sula. We will arrive at your hotel in the late evening. This tour begins with a visit to the Museum of Anthropology of San Pedro Sula where you will get a glimpse of the life in the valley of Sula from Pre-Columbian times to today. After the tour, we will visit a local market called “Guamilito” (an excellent shopping opportunity). Then you will be taken into the banana plantations, located just east of the city, where you will see the process of growing and harvesting bananas, up to the point of being ready to be shipped overseas.

The plantation visited is owned and operated by the Tela Railroad Co. Afterwards, you will proceed to the city of El Progreso, where you will visit a mahogany wood carving facility, here you will be able to observe how the wood is carved and you can purchase products made right there.
