 Humuya
River begins at General Francisco Morazan Dam better
known as “El Cajon”. It is an excellent
river for beginner tourists of all ages. Along the
river we will go into 14 rapids, class II and III available
and accessible all the time.
This river is 01-meter deep surrounded by tropical dry
forest, where you easily see cactus, white frangipani,
agaves, gumbo limbo, Ceibas and panama trees. Some relevant
birds are motmots, cormorants, king fishers, brown jays,
ospreys, swallow tail kites, orioles and much more. Iguanas
and basilisks are also seemed along the river frequently. |
Take
a step back into Honduran history with a visit to the
San Fernando de Omoa Spanish Fortress. Revisit a time
when the buccaneers roamed the Caribbean Sea and attacked
the Spanish center in the New World. Visit the old fortress,
built by the Spaniards during the Colonial period as
defense from the British pirates. 
This
twelve hour excursion is perhaps the most rewarding of
all in Honduras. It will take you deep into the heart
of the country and will give you a glimpse of the varied
landscapes and the opportunity to view one of the most
significant Maya sites in Central America. The ancient
Maya City of Copán enthralled travelers ever since
adventure travelers Stephen and Catherwood “Discovered”
it during the mid nineteenth century. Copán has
been the focus of the most continuous sustained investigation
in all the Maya World.
Lovely
forested mountains along the seashores of Omoa are part
of the spectacular landscapes that creates lush tropical
rain forest, surrounded by many wildlife habitats. In
this Tour we will make a short hike along a small river
up to a beautiful waterfall, which drops into a natural
pool that is perfect for swimming.
